CACS believes it is important to incorporate several different learning methods to complete the educational process. Certainly, didactic lectures with questions and answers, such as those found during general sessions, are important. The sharing of experiences with colleagues is invaluable, but is not sufficient for a total learning experience. Concentrated learning sessions provided in our instruction courses are another very important facet of the process, allowing individuals quality time with one or more experts.

No surgical learning process, however, is complete without a workshop setting, incorporating focused lectures with demonstrations, and if possible, either simulated or actual hands-on experience.

Whether it is an established technique or one still unfolding, the learning process must be thorough and multifaceted. The Academy urges each surgeon to be responsible for seeking out a complete pathway to training, prior to incorporating any technique into his or her practice.

Patient safety and satisfaction can only be achieved through a commitment to comprehensive physician education and learning.

Accreditation Statement

The California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery hires an outside accrediation company for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery designates these continuing medical education opportunities to meet the criteria for hour-for-hour credit in Category 1 of the Physician’s Recognition Award of the American Medical Association. (See the CME statement at the beginning of each program for the maximum number of hours available.)

Claiming CME Credit

CME credits for the Annual Meeting event may be claimed by completing the CME Evaluation for the meeting, which will emailed to pre-registrants and available via a link on our website. Be sure to complete the CME Evaluation for all the sessions and/or presentations you attended; this is how we determine your attendance at a meeting.

CME Certificates will be distributed approximately one month from the completion of the evaluation. This certificate will be emailed to you. We are not responsible for reporting your CME credits to any accreditation body.

Please note that certificates are only distributed to those who have completed the CME evaluation, as per ACCME guidelines.


As an educational organization, the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery does not specifically approve, promote or accept the opinions, ideas, procedures, medications or devices presented in any paper, discussion, forum or panel, or any formal or informal meeting. All speakers, topics and schedules are subject to change without prior notification and will not be considered reason for refund requests. Disclosure Policy

It is required by the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and its affiliate organizations, in accordance with ACCME regulations, that prior to the activity all presenters disclose any financial interest or other relationship (grant, research support, consultant, etc.) by any of the authors with any manufacturer or commercial products that may be discussed in the presentation.

Registration Deadlines

Registration deadlines may be given for CACS meetings. If a date is given, this means CACS Headquarters must receive all advance registrations and payment by that date. Registrations are not honored until payment is confirmed.


Each attendee who is registered in advance will receive a confirmation of that registration by headquarters. Please bring a copy of your registration confirmation letter to on-site registration to speed up the process. If you do not have a confirmation letter, and there is no record of payment receipt by headquarters, you will be required to provide payment on-site, even if you think a payment was remitted previously. Any duplicate payments resulting will be resolved following the meeting.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Cancellation notification and refund requests must be received in writing by CACS Headquarters, 990 Highland Drive, Ste 212K, Solana Beach, CA 92075, or by facsimile at 858.824.1112.

Criteria for Refunds

A deadline is given at each meeting for refunds. Written notice provided before this date will result in a refund less $250 administrative processing fee. All refunds will be processed after the meeting. After the deadline date, no refunds will be given.

Photography/Audio/Visual Taping Restrictions

There is strictly no photography, audio or visual taping allowed in session rooms or the exhibit hall, without express prior written permission of the Academy and the speaker.

Anyone found photographing or taping without authorization will be required to immediately surrender the film or tape, with no reimbursement or further resource.
